The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a digital identity verification platform specifically designed for Pakistan growing freelance workforce. The platform enables freelancers to verify their identity with international clients using blockchain-backed credentials.

The new system integrates with major freelancing platforms including Upwork, Fiverr, and Freelancer.com, allowing Pakistani freelancers to complete KYC (Know Your Customer) checks in seconds rather than days.

According to NADRA Chairman, the platform aims to reduce identity fraud and increase trust in Pakistan freelancing ecosystem. “Pakistan has over 3 million freelancers earning $2 billion annually. This platform will help them compete globally with verified credentials,” he stated.

The platform uses zero-knowledge proof technology, allowing freelancers to prove their identity without sharing sensitive personal data. Industry experts predict this will significantly boost Pakistan reputation in the global gig economy.
